Abstract

Bernard Pivot, the famous French producer of literary television magazines interviews Tahar Ben Jelloun who has just received the Prix Goncourt for his novel "The Sacred Night ". The theme and characters of the book talk about the place (alienation?) of women in the Mediterranean society and Muslim world. Tahar Ben Jelloun wants through writing to set a link between North African and French culture, using the French language to tell his Moroccan roots.
