Abstract

Professors Georges Vallet and Filippo Coarelli develop the organization of traditional family structures in the Mediterranean, through the forms of marriage, the place and role of women, and the mother-son relationships in the matriarchy. Sequences illustration: events for the referendum on divorce in Italy, extended families in Syria, Greece and Turkey, fertility cults in Italy, wedding rituals in Tunisia.
