Abstract

As Jordan is situated in the heart of the world and because of us moderate climate, it was relied upon in matters of trade between East and West and the movement of goods and passengers. So it was necessary to establish a department dealing with customs issues, whether in the clearance of goods at the Sea, air or borders or the mail centers. The Customs Department responsibility is to check the validity and the conformity of goods entering and leaving, as well as charging for them. The program introduces the different steps the department has gone through, and the different names that contributed to reach a distinguished standard. it also notes the staff's reliance on the recent technology in the fight against smuggling.
