Abstract

The program presents all the songs and poetry dedicated to love of the land and of women, that eternal love between the farmer and the land. He ploughs it, sows it, harvests it and takes care of it just as a father takes care of his child. The program includes popular songs and dances (Debkat) performed in Jordan’s countryside and desert to root the love of the land and to celebrate harvesting seasons and also in wedding ceremonies. This is meant to transmit this heritage to the young generation which will transmit it in turn to the next one. Part of this heritage has been saved and kept in the archives; whereas the other part is saved only in memory.
