Abstract

This programs shows some customs and traditions of Jordanian and Bedouin Weddings. From the engagement to the procedure of marriage and all the gifts that the groom offers the bride and what her family offers her. The Jordanian wedding is considered as one of the aspects which the people of the desert stick to especially in terms of rituals to be observed. The marriage proposal has to be in a festive atmosphere but with respect of customs and traditions, and in accordance with the respect of the host family and what the bride’s family deserves as respect and appreciation. Festive nights are organized until the wedding ceremony and when the bride leaves her family to live with her new one .
