Abstract

This program highlights one of the major aspects in rural and bedouin lifestyle in Jordan; the importance of golden jewellery, its manufacture and its decoration. Women , whether rural, bedouin or even urban are particularly interested in jewellery. The second part is devoted music and popular bands and the manifacturing of traditional instruments such as "Essoumsoumia", in the region of Aqaba. The program shows the folk art band in Aqaba, as well as dances and songs evoking the sea and fishing, performed by fishermen and desert men. Finally, we learn to prepare a bread called "Sherak", essential in the bedouin and the rural daily life.
