Abstract

This episode deals with the area of “El Azraq”, east of Jordan, with El azraq castle associated with the Byzantine and Islamic history. El Azrak is located at the crossroads of trade routes and convoys of pilgrims towards Mecca and Medina. We’ll know about horse riding equipments such as saddles and stirrups. All of them are made of materials available in the desert; animal hair is used to make ropes and saddles are made of animal skins in a traditional way. There are also markets where these products are traded. Evening meetings are held by the desert population to discuss and read poems. However, it should be noted that the desert children need schools, health centers and recreational centers.
