Abstract

This special episode deals with the evolution of urbanism and the population movement in Jordan. The film evokes Jordan's urban achievements to meet the growing needs for housing due to the rural exodus to cities and to the rising birth rate. This had a negative impact on agricultural lands and an increasing demand for transportation, housing, and schools. Some cities have grown in size whereas others have newly emerged at the expense of green spaces and forests.
