Abstract

The program deals with medicinal herbs and plants that grow in Jordan and their uses. Among these herbs is the santolina with its various medical benefits ; it kills worms and removes flatulence, it grows in arid areas. As to the asian crowfoot, it is used as a disinfectant in the treatment of sexuan diseases, and against the fungous diseases. The tree mallow has got great nutritive and medical properties, it is used to treat asthma. The yellow corn-poppy is usedans an anti-cough, whereas the wild iris is used for dental treatment. A special oil is extracted from the racinus and used as a purgative. Many other plants that are part of medical and pharmaceutical preparations are found in Jordan.
