The wedding ceremonies differ from a region to another. The desert is known for Essamar performed by men forming a semi-circle, they split into two and a group starts singing then the other answers. At the same time men dance clapping hands, one of them carries a sword and performs a single dance. In the south of Jordan, El Faycalia, Ma'an and El Quwira, the dance and the movements are different. As to Aqaba, people use typical melodies and lyrics related to the sea. The North of Jordan, songs in wedding ceremonies are accompanied by the flute and a drum , and dances are characterized by " debka" ( hitting the soil with feet).Type
