The episode introduces El Aqaba, the beautiful town located on the Red Sea, with its palm fields and the ships that sail through the Gulf of Aqaba to reach the port. The colored sand was discovered by one of the local residents who used it to draw into glass bottles in his shop, in Petra. The colored sand is brought from Wadi Rum and Petra and stones are collected and crushed to get up to 50 colors. With these two natural materials, creative painters decorate glass containers. This art has developed as it became possible to add names or pictures of tourists. The programme introduces the materials and the tools used in this craft . This craft is transmitted from generation to generation and requires high skills, its products are sold in galleries and shops for tourists.Type
