Abstract

This episode speaks of Ajloun, its high mountains and lush forests, villages at the foot of mountains and pine forests with their aromatic smells, composing a spectacular natural tableau renewed each season. Permanent green meadows and colored valleys form a multicolored carpet. As for its history, the castle was built by Azzeddine Oussama by order of Salah Eddine El Ayoubi and was the symbol of the Islamic conquests. It was named after Mohabite king Ajloun and its first inhabitants were the Canaanites known for agriculture. The castle was strategically built at the crossroads against the crusaders wars and their ambitions.
