Abstract

A special program to commemorate the death of Anis Muashar, who loved nature and Jordan. The potection of nature was among his priorities . With a group of friends, he founded the Royal Association for the Conservation of Nature. He had been defending nature and eco-tourism since the eighties, and had raised the problem of water shortage and depletion. Anis Muashar had a special view about environmental issues that turned out to be important after. The first nature reserve was established in Shaumari, in 1975.In 1983 the Arabian Oryx was released there after its captivity . The reserve of Azrak opened in 1976, then that of El Moudjib to protect forests, in 1986. But the biggest reserve is that of Dana which opened in 1989.
