Abstract

What remains from this ancient city introduces to us its long history. It was called Al-Jidara , its arcades, columns, caves, terraces, statutes and houses. Al-Jidara was built during the reign of Alexander the Great in the Macedonian period. The city overlooks Tiberias Lake, and the Golan Mountains. This Greek period was special in the East in the year 98 BC, occupied by Alexander Janios who killed a number of its inhabitants and ended the Greek civilization there. The Romans occupied it after in the period of the prince Bombay to become an alliance to the ten Decapolis. People in al-Jidara were interested in art and beauty, festivals were organized shows and plays were played in its terraces.
