Abstract

Spinning is a process carried out by women, it is the process of making yarn from wool using traditional wood spindles. This is usually done accompanied by singing. Many women participate in this process. It is called El Jamaha. Songs and poems said during the process don’t need musical instruments but the rhythms of women’s voices. There are special tools to be available for spinning wool and making yarn. These are very beautiful traditions.
