Abstract

The program is about Emily Bisharat, the first woman lawyer in Jordan. She was born in Salt, and worked both in Salt and Amman. Since the forties, she has militated in favor of womens 'rights. She also contributed in the founding of the Arab Women Federation, in 1945. Emily occupied numerous important posts, and took part in the founding of the first orphanage in Jordan, in 1951. It was called, Mibrat Oum el Hussein and presided over by Her Majesty, the late, Queen Zein. Today, the orphanage is supervised and sponsored by Her Royal Highness Princess Besma.
