Abstract

A documentary presenting the rose-red city of Petra, built and inhabited by the Nabateans. Petra is famous for its rock architecture and is considered as a wonder of the world, thanks to its caves , temples and terraces Its location between the mountains was a necessity in order to protect it from invaders and for its stability and safety. Water was one factor helping to stabilize the Nabateans Nabataean Kingdom because the Nabateans were farmers before they became traders . In this program, we also discover water conduits that reach Wadi Musa and the methods of its storage in the wells and ponds by the Nabateans . The program deals also with some of the Nabateans' behaviours and their approach to life like their respect for the dead, and the establishment of the treasury al- khazna and its architecture . Then we learn about the Nabateans' common and beautiful clothes with their attractive colours ; the judiciary ,their law ; and learn about Petra today and its inhabitants who benefited from tourism .
