Abstract

This episode talks about the Roman city of Jerash, also called the city of the thousand columns. Jerash is a tourist destination not only for its history and its unique architecture but also for its proximity, as it takes about an hour by car from Amman. In the ancient city, we can find many stands, theaters, columns and churches dating back to the Roman period, as well as water sources. Research and excavations are being carried out to discover new sites dating back to different periods. Every year, since 1982, a festival of culture and arts is held in the ancient city .
