- Up in the mountain, the mountain range of western Lebanon dressed themselves with their white dresses, which paralyzed movements in the mountain villages

- and even on the coast. People are on their balconies to watch and participate to the celebration of heritage.

- This is an initiative organized by the Association for the Development of Mankind and Environment, financed by the German Embassy

- within the scope of the project “Ambassador of National Peace”, in collaboration with a group of civil and social institutions.

- Heritage unites us, not only because our past ties us together, but the future unites us.

- The present unites us, we have the same ambitions, the same dreams and the same goals.

- Bidaoui Main Street in the north of Lebanon became a folklore and art stage from Palestine and Lebanon.

- I wanted to start from a Palestinian-Lebanese initiative, as Palestinians and Lebanese people live in the heart of my region.

- I entitled the initiative “Heritage ties us together” to enhance to the common values and folklore to both communities,

- be it traditional meals or paintings of our heritage.

- As the group presenting Palestinian-Lebanese songs; a very warm Palestinian-Lebanese encounter.

- This is a meeting with history and the authenticity of the Arabs and Palestine, with an exhibition of heritage

- that ornamented a tent, tent that presented heroic stories of Palestine’s ancestors.

- A Palestinian-Lebanese initiative, not to better the relationships between both countries, as the relationships are good,

- but to say to the whole world: “Look how the Palestinians and the Lebanese people live together in Lebanon, and how they respect one another.”

- For 5 months, we have been working on a project called I.O.PEACE.

- And today we are covering, at El-Bedaoui University, a workshop project for peace,

- in 3 regions of the north, in Bekaa and Beirut.

- The best part was to come. It was a folklore wedding and the party that went along with it,

- an open buffet of traditional food was proposed.

- A comeback to authenticity and heritage, to our belonging

- in order to draw energy from it, that will allow us to face the waves of globalization and modern cultures that begin

- penetrating our society, along with future generations’ minds and behaviors.
