Abstract

- Life in the city of Haifa, its foundation and development through history. - The city was founded in 1961 by Daher El-Omar. Built on the slopes of Mount Carmel, Haifa is surrounded by walls. Because of population density, some people left the city and settled outside the city’s walls, building new districts and neighborhoods. - The impact of the ferry and the port in Haifa. - The nakba (the catastrophe) of 1948 and its impact on Haifa. The displacement of the inhabitants. - The Nisnas district and its problems. - The effects of the railway and the port on the neighbouring districts. - The role of some institutions such as: “Al Moussawa center” (Equality center) , the theatre, the cultural life in Haifa and the cafés.
