Abstract

The speaker describes the Cathedral Square in Pienza (Siena, Tuscany) designed and realized together with the Cathedral and the Palace Piccolomini in the XV century by architect Bernardo Gambarelli, the "Rossellino", on Pope Pious II's orders. The speaker talks about the description of the façade of the Cathedral, the paintings and the frescos in it, the Episcopalian Building and the Building Piccolomini that leans out on the plaza. The announcer describes the artworks preserved in the museum of the Cathedral among which a precious pluvial belonged to Pope Pious II. Then, he mentions the scenes of Cathedral Square, of the Cathedral, of Building Piccolomini and of the Building Episcopalian, and the details of the pluvial of Pious II.
