Abstract

The speaker talks about the medieval town of Gubbio (Perugia, Umbria), he remembers the famous holy day with the run of the candles, he describes some architectural works and monuments of the Middle Ages, he talks about craftmanship and workmanship of ceramics and of "bucchero", typical of this city. Then he explains which are the economic and social perspectives of Gubbio. The video shows some architectural details, typical glimpses, men carrying some big candles on their shoulders running through city's street, archaelogical relics and a scene of daily life.
