Abstract

The speaker talks about the city of Mantua, in particular about the tradition of old puppets called “burattini”. Augustus Corniani, master craftsman who builds burattini, especially Testarisa, so named because of his curly hair and his wife Harpalus, Umberto Brunelli which builds the puppets with paper mache and new puppets, are presented. The video also explain the evolution of "burattini", which Patrizia Beccari and Gianluca Tirelli contribute in the laboratory of fairy tales. We can observe raftsmen at work during the construction of "burattini" and puppets, and also men waiting for a puppet show and children watching it .
