Abstract

Escapade in Lazio to discover the ancient cities of southern Etruria which developed in the sixth century B. C : Caere, now Cerveteri, Anguillara and its major monuments, the ancient Etruscan port of Punicum (Santa Marinella) and Pyrgi (Santa Severa). The town of Bracciano, which faces the eponymous lake, has an imposing edifice, the Odescalchi castle, enlarged in the fifteenth century by the Orsini family. The village of Tolfa is remarkable with its fortress built by the Frangipane family. We also discover the town of Canale Monterano and the remarkable natural site of Caldara di Manziana. The region of volcanic formation, is favourable to grape growing and Falerno wine production .
