Abstract

Documentary about the Borromean Islands, a small group of islands located in the center of the Lake Maggiore. A visit to this magical place begins with the Isola Bella, known for its palaces and lush gardens built by Charles III Borromeo in the seventeenth century . The next step is the Isola dei Pescatori, not very far, and which is made ​​up of fishermen's cottages. Finally we landed at Isola Madre, further. Lancelot Borromeo built there a palace and an exotic garden in the early sixteenth century. Inside the palace is a theater for puppets' play, dating from the seventeenth century . The botanical garden is also a haven for many exotic birds such as peacocks, golden pheasants and parrots.
