The art reviewer Philippe Daverio talks about carving in Italy between 1400 and 1700, its innovative qualities, anticipating the painting techniques. Sculptural group “Lamentation Over The Dead Christ” by Niccolo Dell'Arca, in the church of Santa Maria Della Vita in Bologna, the frescoes in the church of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria in Galatina ; sculptures on display at the exhibit "Emotions in clay", in the Forum Boarium of Modena, dedicated to clay carving between 1400 and 1500 through the works of Guido Mazzoni and Antonio Begarelli. Details of "Bible" by Borso d'Este ; frescoes of Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara ; paintings by Piero della Francesca ; sculptures by Begarelli in the church of San Francesco in Modena.
