Abstract

Visit with Alberto Angela of the international museum of clocks, located in Switzerland near Zurich. Alberto Angela talks about the meaning of the measurement of time and evokes the history and functioning of clocks through examples from the museum in which some of them date back to the sixteenth century such as clocks, watches, sundials. Explanations of how ancient tools used to measure time in different countries around the world and features of precious watches containing complex mechanisms and decorated by master craftsmen. Illustration of the mathematical precision with the contemporary example of the atomic clock of the Institute Galileo Ferraris of Turin.
