Abstract

Escapade along Simeto , the main river of Sicily, in the province of Catania. In the eighteenth century, the noble family Biscari built a huge bridge over the river but an earthquake destroyed its middle part which has been rebuilt now . Prints and Drawings of that time of the work and impressions of travelers. Evocation of the history of people who lived along its banks, on the peculiarities of Simetite amber and the composition of various rocks, mostly of volcanic origin.
