- One of the places one can’t miss visiting once you are in Anacapri is Saint Michael’s villa, wanted by the Swedish doctor Axel Munthe.

- A doctor, but also a writer, with a passion for archeology and philanthropy.

- A very eclectic character who wanted to have his place of heart here, in this part of Anacapri at the end of the 1800.

- A great union of genres, of archeological pieces, objects of art, that turn this very interesting museum-house.

- We are located in the historical center of Anacapri, and immediately another compulsory stop, the Red House.

- What is the Red House?

- Today the Red House is a small museum, but in the beginning, it was a private house wanted by a southern American colonel, who was in Capri in 1875.

- The year after, he started building this house, with this special style and plenty of fantasy, as the fashion of the time dictated it,

- and he took some archeological pieces in this small antiquarium, that today attracts many tourists, especially for its extravagance of shapes.

- In fact, Capri is called the Blue Island because of this wonderful funds, this special transparence of the water.

- Even Tacitus in his Annals described the winter in Capri as mild.

- In winter, in all the islands, in particular those of the Mediterranean Sea, the temperature never gets below 14°-15° Celsius.

- They get the heat of the sea and thus have particularly privileged condition.

- Moreover, Capri enjoys other characteristics, that means that being quite close to the coast, it is protected by the cold winds in winter,

- and in summer, it enjoys its breezes coming from the sea and that give mild temperatures,

- in winter, over 12°-13° Celsius, and summer maximal temperatures, always mild, under 23°-24° Celsius.
