Abstract

Federico Quaranta and Nicola Prudente take us to the discovery of the Sicilian city of Syracuse. Panoramic views of the city of Syracuse and its monuments: the cathedral, the Maniace castle, built by the Emperor Frederick II in the 1230s, the Greek theater where Aeschylus took place and where Plato would have delivered a speech. The dramatic tradition of Syracuse has revived since 1914, after a sleep of more than 2000 years. Sequences of playsr in Syracuse. Discovery of the historical center of the town, on the peninsula of Ortigia: houses, the coastal road, buildings, squares and monuments. Visit of the Palace Beneventano (late eighteenth century, the Sicilian Baroque's style ). Interviews on the history and heritage of the city.
