The town of Asilah is located on the Atlantic coast, 40 km from Tangier. It was built on the remnants of the city of Carthage Zelis. After the Portuguese conquest in 1471, Asilah became one of the most important counters in its time. Today, it is famous for its long beaches and cultural festivals of international renown. The city is coveted by many artists and painters who have transformed Asilah's walls into a huge painting. The architecture of the city had been influenced by several factors: being a coastal city, the traditions of its inhabitants to bleach and paint their houses and the neighbourhoods at least twice a year, not to mention the contribution of the Spanish and the Jews there.Type
