Abstract

The many monuments and historical sites in the province of Errachidia still testify of the ancient civilization that Tafilalet has experienced . Despite its semi-arid climate and distance from other urban centers, this region has witnessed through its history a significant number of civilizations , especially since the presence of man in this region which dates back from the stone age . For a long t time, Tafilalet has played a great role in unifying the country. The traces of this period are still engraved on rocks and in the memory of its people and are transmitted from generation to generation. This is normal because Tafilalet was the birthplace of the Alawite dynasty, and has got the mausoleum of its founder, Moulay Ali Cherif .
