Abstract

The city of Tangiers was built on the remnants of the ancient Tingitana. Tingitana has experienced many civilizations that succeeded each other, this will not facilitate the task of historians, archaeologists and researchers. In Marchane's district , in the city of Tangiers, there are tombs, said to be Phoenicians. This cemetery dates back to the Neolithic era. 10 km from the city of Tangiers, there is the prehistoric site of Cota, near the site of Cape Achakkar, famous for its four caves that sheltered the prehistoric man. But Hercule's cave remains the most famous of them, it is located on the side of the Atlantic Ocean, its name is linked to the Greek mythology.
