Abstract

Ifran's region had known a great cultural renaissance which led to the emergence of several Islamic schools which competed with high schools in Souss' region. "Tankert" is the most famous of these schools, it was built in the 19th century; There they taught religion, literature, poetry...etc. Today this school's students are less numerous than before, and the building is almost in ruins.
