Report on the Portuguese trough, located in the Portuguese district or Mazakan in the centre of El Djadida city. This district was listed as World Human Heritage by the UNESCO on July 30, 2004. It is a model for the exchange and the mutual cultural influences of European, mainly the Portuguese, culture and the Moroccan one. The Construction of the trough dates back to the 16th century . It is the most important monument in the Portuguese district of El Djadida. It has been chosen by many film makers for their shooting; the most famous film shot there is "Othello".
