Abstract

In the Moroccan popular culture, the presence of a big number of steam baths (hammams) has a historical and cultural significance . There are three categories of steam baths' : the steam bath, where groundwater is heated on woodfire; the modern steam bath and the Turkish steam bath known as a sauna . The necessary accessories for women are : henna, clay ,soap and other make-up products. To avoid health problems, doctors advise to reduce bathing hours and a strict cleaning of the steam baths .
