Abstract

Written translations of the Holy Quran, the Prophet's Sunnah and other religious books into the Amazigh language have been done. The purpose is that the Amazigh populations of north Africa could benefit from it. Oral translations had been done previously by Aznak, Outounart,Sidi Hamou, Ouzar and Sheikh Al jarkaoui . These translations are used as references in schools and institutes for the Amazigh language. The oral method of learning by heart is still used in Koranic schools. We note that the translations of the Holy Quran have taken into consideration the semantic aspect rather the literal one.
