Abstract

The episode deals with the various stages of manufacturing silk by traditional methods .Silk is the material produced from saliva of silk worm.Throughout history, silk clothing was reserved for kings,dignitaries , rich and powerful people,and was a sign of a life of comfort, luxury and grace . For a long time ,silk had been a focus of attention of the early explorers of China, and then merchants exchanged it with valuable goods because they believed that silk delighted both minds hearts. Silk industry began at the beginning of the twentieth century in 1916. Silk industry is characterized by its distinctive decorations; blue silk is called the dove's neck, the green is dark celeriac, and the yellow; all these colors are associated with nature. Silk industry is tedious and requires a great deal of handling and stages of processing which are: Sericulture; Hatching the Eggs ; the Feeding Period , Spinning the Cocoon and Reeling the Filament ; then delivering to the craftsmen to create what suits the period's fashion and the inherited traditions .
