Abstract

The saddle is composed of 15 leather parts tailored and decorated with different typs of fabrics. Saddles and equestrian equipment are made and sold in a special market "Souk Eshakazin", in the antique Tunis, since the 15th century. The craft is disappearing because riding has become a hobby for a few Tunisians. However, interest in horses remains among folk bands that use horses in equestrian festivals.
