Abstract

The manifacture of silver jewellery is a traditional craft that requires manual tools. This makes traditional jewels different from the imported ones. The craftsman dissolves raw silver and 5 percent of copper, he pours it to obtain different shapes. He transforms part of it into silver strings reaching 100 meters long which is rolled on iron pieces and used for decoration. Silver jewellery is varied, it includes necklaces, rings and earrings. As any traditional craft, it tends to disappear because of the lack of skilled manpower, the considerable efforts it requires and the poor profit it generates.
