Abstract

Embroidery "El Tariza" is a traditional craft in Tunisia, it is associated to weddings as the bride used to embroider all the clothes and bed linen. The episode shows the embroidery stages on different fabrics, mainly on special clothing for weddings and occasions in Monastir. The craft requires highly skilled, talented craftswomen who create drawings and embroider them with a great accuracy and concentration. "El Tariza", as any other traditional craft, is not very popular among youth, which hinders its transmission through generations.
