Abstract

Despite the invasion of plastic bags and other containers made of paper,the basket hasn't lost its position in Tunisia. This episode deals with the stages of making the Tunisian basket and other countainers through the experience of a young devoted woman who makes handicraft items based on different materials from palm leaves and leather. The woman uses different modern designs based on the artistic heritage of Tunisia and some touches inspired by traditional clothing. As other traditional handmade crafts, this craft is popular forTunisians and foreigners and represents a new hope for the revival of traditional industries.
