Abstract

It is an historic documentary highlighting the history of the railways and trains in Tunisia. - Invention of the steam train - Visit of the railway museum of Tunis - Interview with Mr Mohamed El Kfi, former president of a train station - Historic details about the setting up of the railway network and the emergence of trains in Tunisia the 2 august 1872, and the arrival of the trams in the heart of the town. This documentary is ending with a presentation of the historical phases lived by the Tunisian transport by rail sector, including the long-distance lines, linked to the political, economic, social and cultural conditions of Tunisia.
