Abstract

This documentary presents local traditions such as the creation of sugar puppets, a tradition of the towns of Nabeul and Dar Chaaban El Fehri. The making of sugar puppets is mostly done during the celebrations of the end of the year. Through some street interviews with some families and craftsmen that master this entertainment, the documentary highlights the origin of those small puppets and their meaning for the inhabitants of Nabeul. At the end of this film, the film crew takes us to Sicilia and to Italy, the places birth of that craft occupation. Historian Mohammed Boude discusses the topic.
