Abstract

The edition of this documentary "Houses and ideas" looks the house of Bahlawene. It is one of the Turk, Andalusian historical monuments in Tunisia. The house, built in 1825, is situated in the heart of the old town, on Difi Ben Arous Boulevard. The edition presents a historical overview of Ali El-Bahlawene and the generations that followed one another in the house, that kept its architectural and craft specificities after restoration works. The house is made of two floors, a terrace and a large yard. The bedrooms have their own style each. The photographer of the program took care of picturing the house from different angles, as mush inside as outside. A portion of the house of Bahlawene was turned into a hotel that attracts crowds and gives foreigners an overview of Tunisian architectural genius.
