Abstract

This documentary presents extracts of the town of Sousse, starting with the Great Mosque and finishing with El-Kantaoui harbor (marina). We will discover Sousse railroad: date of construction, restoration and enlarging. We will also discover Sousse trade harbor, its various activities and the role it played in antique and modern trade, mainly in regard to the exportation of esparto and traditional industries. Extracts of the town of Kairouan, and the history of the transfer of the activity of its railroad. Extracts of the town of Kasserine, and the role played by its railroad in the development of the entire area. We will discover the town of Sbeitla, its archeological monuments, the negligence and the lack of maintenance of its railroad. We will discover the town of Monastir and its communication networks: the railroad and the maritime ones. We end up this long trip by a visit to Qasr H'lal and El-Meknin, close to Mahdia and El-Jem.
