Abstract

Documentary on Tunisian leader Zaim Habib Bourguiba’s political life, and his fight after his return from taking refuge in Malta, on the steps through which Tunisia went after its independence (inner independance, writing of the Constitution, the declaration of the Republic, departure of the last French soldier), Zaim’s election who became the first President of the Republic. The documentary also presents the role played by Bourguiba in the promotion of the Tunisian State, through the setting up of economic institutions, condominiums and buildings for the sanitary and the educational domains. It also approaches his interest for the progress of youth, childhood and women.
