Abstract

The town of Testour is located on the plateau of the Mjarda basin, in northern Tunisia, 76 km away from the capital Tunis. The town knows draws its fame from its Moorish-Andalusian history, called Tichilla in Roman times. In this episod of “Memory of a city”, we present an overview of the town of Testour, of Wali Ali Al-Aryani's sanctuary and the Zaouia of Sidi Lasrem, built in 1733. We will also present the folklore costume of the town, the Djeba, its industry of red bricks and its El-Malouf music.
