Abstract

This documentary "Memory of a city ", looks to the town of Mahdia, located between the banks of the Mediterranean sea in the East, Kairouan in the West, Sousse and Monastir in the North and Sfax in the South. The town benefits from its strategical position, overlooking the sea from the three sides. The first Fatimid Caliph, Abd Allah Al-Mahdi, turns it into the capital of its dynasty in the year 308 of the Hegira (920 AD), and gives it its current name "Mahdia". This episod presents an overview of the history, geography, culture and architecture of the town. It also presents the main characteristics of the town, through the testimonies of some experts of the town, specialists in various areas.
