Abstract

In this second part of the documentary dedicated to Kairouan,we can discover the historical facts, the religious town and the facets of the arabic architecture with a guided tour inside of the sanctuary and in the Abou Zaama Balawi school (one of the companion of the prophet). Kairouan is also famous for its numerous craft skills as the carpet industry of Marcoum and Albernos or its other products made by wool and exposed at the market of Alrobä. The products made by leather like bags or babouche are sold at the market of Boulaghjya.

Almkarod is a sort of specific cake of the city of Kairouan, Tunisia. It is cut in diamond-shape and contains semolina. It also contains dates, almonds, pistachios, cashew nut, lemon and pine nuts. The visitors of Kairouan can not help tasting it.
